Acrobatic Arts @ Fusion

The Acrobatic Arts Program is based on safe and effective progressions with proven results in five divisions of AcroDance:

  • Flexibility

  • Strength

  • Balancing

  • Limbering

  • Tumbling

It was developed with input from professionals and experts in ballet, modern dance, jazz, contortion, artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, sport acrobatics, yoga, acro yoga, pilates, physiotherapy, hand balancing and more. Simple thoughtful progressions take the beginner-level dancer from log rolls and somersaults to the advanced dancer tumbling effortlessly across the studio.

Essentially the program and combines many classic dance elements with physical conditioning, allowing students to undertake the complex acrobatic moves that are part of the style. It is great for building strength coordination and not to mention confidence!

Benefits of Acro

Acro fundamentals increase technical levels for all other dance disciplines. Additionally the limbering and tumbling skills gained through Acro add versatility to the dancer's training. Not only does the student develop the foundational skills to perform aerials and back handsprings, it improves his/her ability to leap and turn in all dance technique classes. Current trends in choreography include acrobatic dance.

This program is also a fantastic base for dancers interested in cheer and other floor tumbing-based programs.
