Deanna Johnson

Dance & Acro Instructor

Miss Deanna has been dancing her entire life. Growing up in the metro-Detroit area, she was trained in all forms of dance but her love is in Tap, Jazz, and Acro. She has owned and operated two successful dance schools that are still in operation today by former students of hers, and has started after school dance programs in three different school districts.

Deanna is a dance judge for "Encore Talent Productions" and "Headliners Dance Championships", as well as a guest choreographer and does in-house master classes.

As a professional dancer and model for The Jack Reed Talent Agency, she has performed with many celebrities throughout the United States and Canada. She modeled and did commercial work for the Detroit Athletic Club, Detroit Auto and Boat Shows, Vic-Tanny Health and Fitness, TV guide, Western Sizzling Steak House, and CKLW.

Deanna owned and directed her own TV show "Tapping with Deanna" that appeared weekly on a local cable channel teaching tap to the beginner through to the advanced dancer.

As a former Gymnast for the Flint Olympian's, she was the 10th all around in the state of Michigan and later went on to be awarded 7th all around in the USAG Jr. Olympics. Additionally, she has extensive training in Acrobatics and Contortionist work.

Her real passion is teaching and sharing her passion and education with the dancers. Her students and choreography over the years have been highly recognized an awarded at the Regional, National, and International level. Additionally, her students have performed at the Detroit Motor City Tap Festival, Disney World, Las Vegas with Tina Landon, The Citrus Bowl Halftime Show, Detroit State Theater with Martha Reeves for a Motown tribute, on the Chesaning Showboat, and Chrysler Corporation events.

Deanna revels in seeing dance through the eyes of the beginner being introduced to a whole new world through to that accomplished elite senior crying with joy when reaching their ultimate goals.
